Hey loves. Hope you're having a great week so far.
I started writing this post on the 4th of August 2017 after leaving the hairdresser and seeing how terribly thin my hair got. My hair looked horrible. Tears came to my eyes as I saw my reflection in the mirror at the Salon.
This is what it looked like before. Major difference huh?
All I wanted was to grow my hair. So I had put my hair through a series of protective hair styles like faux locs and a sew-ins. My hair was definitely longer but the volume was gone.
Don't get me wrong I am in no way blaming the faux locs and the weave for the demise of my hair. I blame myself. I was way too busy thinking about the next protective hairstyle and forgot about caring my hair underneath. I didn't treat it or used any products in it whatsoever and that's where I went wrong...
Just like any living thing on this earth, hair care requires time and nurturing... I know that now. Shortly after I started writing this post in august 2017, I become motivated and ATTEMPTED my healthy relaxed hair journey but got distracted yet again. I eventually went back to sew ins and wigs and totally forgot about my hair underneath. I guess I didn't learn my lesson! Sure enough my hair kept breaking and it looked worse than the first set of images I took after leaving the salon back in August 2017. I decided to really commit to my healthy relaxed hair journey this time around and I thought a great way to start would be to chop it all off and document the entire process. So here I go again... the second time around.
